The city of Covington was founded in the year 1815. The land was named by the Kentucky General Assembly. At the time of incorporation, Covington was a part of the Campbell County. The German immigrants resulted in the growth in the city’s population after 1830. The resurgence has continued and in the 21st century Covington has originated as an appropriate place to live.
